Label2Prod vs Cursor for Jira and GitLab
Choose Cursor when your developers already work in Cursor and want one agent everywhere. Choose Label2Prod when the people who find the issues should get them fixed without being developers: a Jira issue in, a tested GitLab merge request out.

When Cursor fits
Your developers already work in Cursor and want the same agent in the editor, in the cloud and in Jira. Cursor’s cloud agents take a Jira issue, work in the repository you name, and report progress back on the issue.
When Label2Prod fits
You don’t need to be a developer. Cursor is a code editor first, built for people who read and write code every day. Label2Prod starts from the Jira issue and does the engineering itself, so the person who knows what is wrong, a QA engineer, a product manager, support or a founder, can take it to a tested merge request and approve the result without reading code.
Every merge request explains in plain words what was wrong and what changed, and carries a test that fails before the change and passes after it. Label2Prod works on any GitLab tier, including GitLab.com Free and self-managed GitLab, needs no editor plan, and runs the AI on your own Anthropic key.
A note on GitLab from Jira
In June and July 2026, Cursor staff confirmed on Cursor’s forum that some agents started from Jira worked against GitHub instead of the connected GitLab repository. If that is your setup, check the current state with Cursor.
