Label2Prod early access is open
Label2Prod turns Jira issues into tested GitLab merge requests, and early-access teams can use it for free today. What it does, who it is for, how to start.
Every backlog has them: issues that are understood, small, and still waiting weeks for someone to have time. Label2Prod is for those. Add a label to the Jira issue, and a tested GitLab merge request comes back for your team to review.
Today we are opening early access. Teams on Jira Cloud and GitLab can use Label2Prod for free.
What it does
- Someone adds the
autofixlabel to a Jira issue. - Label2Prod replies on the issue, reproduces the problem with a new test, and makes the change in the right repository.
- It checks the result on a clean copy of the repository: the new test must fail before the change and pass after it, and your test suite must pass.
- It opens a merge request that explains what was wrong and how it was fixed, and links it on the Jira issue.
If the issue leaves something out, Label2Prod asks in a comment and waits for your reply. If it cannot prove a change, it opens nothing and says why. Whoever approves the merge request can ask for changes by commenting @autofix with an instruction in plain words; each request adds a new commit.
Who it is for
You don’t need to be a developer. Label2Prod is for the person who knows what is wrong: the QA engineer who filed the bug, the product manager with a small story, support with a customer’s report, the founder without spare engineering time. They label the issue, and the merge request comes back explained in plain words, with the proof.
It works for teams that plan in Jira Cloud and ship from GitLab, on GitLab.com or their own GitLab. Most AI coding agents that start from Jira open pull requests on GitHub or Bitbucket, and GitLab’s own agents start from GitLab issues. We wrote about that gap separately.
What early access includes
The whole product, free, with no credit card. Fixes run on your own Anthropic API key, so the model usage is billed by Anthropic to your account, and every attempt stops at a fixed ceiling. The early access page has the details.
How to start
Setup takes about five minutes: connect Jira, connect a GitLab group, map projects to repositories, and add your Anthropic key. The getting started guide walks through each step.
