Connect Jira Cloud to Label2Prod

Label2Prod works with Jira Cloud. Jira Data Center and Jira Server are not supported.

Choose the account to connect with

Everything Label2Prod writes in Jira, its comments and the label when you start a fix from the app, appears under the name of the account that connects the site. Connect with a service account or a dedicated user rather than your own account, so comments do not carry a person’s name and the connection keeps working when people leave.

The account needs access to the projects you want to use, with permission to see, edit and comment on their issues.

Connect

1. In Label2Prod, open Setup and choose Connect Jira.
2. Atlassian asks you to sign in and approve access. Sign in as the account you chose above.
3. Pick the site to connect. You return to Label2Prod with the site listed.

To add another site, choose Connect another site in the same step. One organization can connect as many sites as you use.

Your Jira projects are brought in during the next steps, when you map projects to repositories.

What Label2Prod may do in Jira

Atlassian’s consent screen lists the access Label2Prod asks for: read:jira-work and write:jira-work to read issues and write comments, manage:jira-webhook so Jira tells Label2Prod when a label is added or a comment arrives, and offline_access so the connection keeps working without you signing in again. The security page lists what it reads and writes.

Keep the connection healthy

Jira asks Label2Prod to renew its notifications every 30 days, and Label2Prod does this on its own. If it is about to lose access to a site, for example because the connecting account lost its permissions, a red banner appears at the top of every page in the app. Reconnect the site from Setup to clear it.

To remove Label2Prod’s access to Jira at any time, revoke it under Connected apps in the connecting account’s Atlassian profile.
